The Dr I see is great. 5 stars for him. But both times I've had labs drawn, they opened the doors at 0735 NOT 0730. And when I told the lady she should change the time to 735ish, she snapped, "EXCUSE ME!?!?", so I repeated myself and again "EXCUSE ME?!??" I said, "y'all are late not me, don't know why you're angry." She replied "there are other people here other than me." Nobody can accept responsibility....and why not be friendly and apologize? I had a smile and was friendly when I made the 0735 joke. But again, the Dr is great, but the staff? Not so much.

The worse people I've ever encountered.

I would like to preface my rating by saying I realized that this is not going to change anything and it is certainly not going to help me get the treatment I need but I cannot sit idly by without saying something about the horrendous treatment options for veterans not only at this facility but it others across the country. It is sad to me that we as veterans cannot receive adequate care at places that are VA. I went in for the first time in 5 years for back problems that have been ongoing for about a month and was basically treated as I am an inconvenience to them. The doctor I saw dr. Maynard basically told me that he would not prescribe any kind of pain med because supposedly the state of North Carolina told him he can't and that nobody can which as anybody knows is complete BS. Even when I asked for a non-opioid like Tramadol he refused. He asked me what my pain was on a scale of 1 to 10 and I explained to him that it was an 8 I don't know how much worse it would need to be for him to do anything about it but to be able to decide who lives with pain and who gets help is ridiculous if you wanted to drug test me to make sure that I am not abusing them then fine but do not flat out refuse me the option of taking something. Then when I asked about getting referred to a chiropractor I was told that was a possibility however I would only be allowed 12 visits per year! I have seen a chiropractor here locally before and was told it would take approximately 3 visits per week for two and a half years before I would be normal again. How does the VA expect going once a month it's going to help anything. So basically I have wasted an entire day and lost a day's work for nothing because that is exactly what the VA has done for me nothing on top of that I was told that in order to see a chiropractor I would need to go have an x-ray taken before they would approve it and was told I did not need an appointment to go get an x-ray taken now there is a hospital directly across the street from this VA facility however they told me I would need to drive to Fayetteville which is over an hour and a half away to get an x-ray taken that is flat-out ridiculous!! There is no reason to make people drive an hour and a half for something that can be taken care of directly across the street overall my experience has been awful and while I will not blame the receptionist I will say that the nurses and doctors in my experiences are useless. When somebody comes in there in excruciating pain and you send them away with basically what basically amounts to nothing I don't believe you are doing your job properly. Where does someone in my position turn for relieve?

He also mentions they yell at you for having insurance. Basically, saying you shouldn't use them even when it's you're legal right to do so.

It seems like it's more the mentality of the entire area. The hospital near by has a horrible rep, and the one in Lenoir is known for people dying.

I personally never been here, but my dad has. He told me multiple times in the past that the doctors yell at you for no reason. Many times even if the doctor messes up on the dates, they will yell at you.
