Let me just say if I could give this leasing agency a big fat 0, I would. My apartment is located in Briarcliff. When I first moved in, the apartment wasn't clean...my grandmother and I had to buy stove cleaner and let it sit in the oven for days before we even cleaned it. The carpet was dirty and I was told they could not replace it because carpet does stain overtime and it's a slight "cosmetic problem." The vents were filthy. I was told they could not be taken out and cleaned because they would have to use a ladder and the cleaning company doesn't use ladders. The lady even stated I would have to have a cleaning company come in myself and pay out of pocket. I disagree fully because this was something that was supposed to be addressed prior to us moving in. The light fixtures were dirty and had big bugs in everyone, which apparently I needed to fix smh. The window seals were filthy. I put in a order months ago and no one has been out to look at it. I have mold growing on my wall in the master bath. I was told by the lady at the front desk that it wasn't mold, it was mildew and it's harmless, it's common, and not a big issue. (who cares? It's still a problem) Maintenance came, sprayed the surface with soapy water and wiped it off. He said if it comes back, I may need a bigger exhaust fan. Low and behold, 4 weeks later it's back again with a vengeance. I called Last Monday (seven days ago) and I called Wednesday. Still, nobody has come out. I am very unimpressed with REA Properties. The funny thing is they give you from the 1st of every month until the 5th of every month to pay your rent. Once, I was 6 days late...and sure enough, I came home from work on that 6th day and there was a note with a late fee. I pay $775/month to this agency and they aren't even doing their job. This is my first time renting on my own and it has been a total nightmare!!!!! If I knew who the head of the agency was, I would definitely be making a complaint.
